I really like part 1; a tour de force of the REAL inflexions in human history. I agree that nothing changed until the invention of "Printing with movable type & the power of the individual 1450-1520" and "The Boulton & Watt steam engine & the Age of Cant 1775 – 1825" except the invention of data movement via electricity, I think, was significant too.

I look forward to Part 2.

Thanks, John. Yes, there were spasms before the arrival of printing, of course. An obvious one was the apparent extraordinary convergence of thinking around the invention of the 'internal' existence of humans in the Axial Age - the arrival of Buddhism, Confucianism and more. I agree with you that data movement via electricity is hugely significant - the digital world could not have come into being without it. Part 2 coming up very soon.
